Caring for you as we would for ourselves

Pulmonology

Our medical specialty focuses on the study and treatment of conditions affecting the lungs, bronchi, pleura and mediastinum, which is the central compartment of the chest cavity located between the lungs.

Our pulmonology department is fully equipped with the latest technology to ensure patients receive the most appropriate care as efficiently as possible.

Dr Lise Lücker and Dr Alain Bigin Younossian are the clinical directors in charge of the department. They work closely with highly-skilled internal medicine doctors and a specialist cardiopulmonary rehabilitation team.

Our special partnership with CENAS, a private sleep center based in Geneva and accredited by the Swiss Society for Sleep Research, Sleep Medicine and Chronobiology, means that our department has access to innovative polysomnography equipment to record patients’ nighttime sleep patterns while in bed.

As a result, we can establish accurate diagnoses as quickly as possible and provide the highest level of tailored care for all sleep-related conditions.

Types of care

Outpatient care

Make an appointment in a medical practice to see one of our pulmonologists.

Day hospital

You will need to be monitored for several hours after some of our tests and treatments, for example an urgent pre-operative lung function assessment, a bronchoscopy under sedation and non-invasive ventilation initiation all require monitoring. In these cases, you will be looked after by our highly-experienced and attentive team in our day hospital.

Inpatient care

If your lung condition requires you to stay in the hospital for a long period of time, you will receive the highest level of care from our specialist teams in our intensive and progressive care units.

Respiratory rehabilitation plan

We offer an outpatient respiratory rehabilitation plan for comprehensive one-on-one care. It is divided into two parts:

  • exercises provided by cardiopulmonary rehabilitation specialists
  • multidisciplinary patient education based on medical approaches as well as physical therapy and nutrition
